Anita founded Tofts Tutors in 2016 in order to offer a professional tutoring service in Kent. Within 2 months, she was fully booked and set about building the fantastic team of tutors we have today.
Anita studied music at Oxford University before going on to get her PGCE degree. She taught secondary school English, Maths and Science as well as school music for 10 years, before becoming a full time tutor. She is currently studying to become one of the the few fully certified Kodaly teachers in the UK.
Her specialism is adapting lessons for autistic students, and creating an accelerated learning program for piano and music theory students.
Jake Storey

Jake began teaching guitar lessons with Tofts Tutors back in September of 2018 straight out of finishing sixth form college so he has been building his experience with teaching students for the past 7 years since finishing school. Jake then went on to obtain a 1st class Bachelors of Music honours degree in performance and production from the BIMM Institute, London.
Jake is known for creating an encouraging environment that allows students to naturally nurture and discover their own pathways to success resulting in students that feel motivated and inspired, all while being supported with a strong functional skill set that can be applied to real world situations. He also loves to discover new music and talk about bands and artists so be sure to share your interests with him as he often speaks with students about what they have been listening to and gives some awesome recommendations!

James Liu
Singing/Vocal Coach, (all styles) specialising in Opera/Classical/Musical Theatre

James is a British-Chinese tenor and a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he completed his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. James now has 20 years of performing and teaching experience, and specialises in teaching vocal technique and refining tone quality. He encourages his students to develop healthy singing habits, while combining this with language coaching, interpretation and performance skills. James also regularly works with singers for audition preparation, industry professionals and also vocal rehabilitation.
James is a regular performer with the English National Opera and Buxton Opera Festival, and continues to perform regularly throughout the country.

Alan Pagan
Drums/Percussion, Piano

Piano:
Alan first learned piano and cello as a youngster, with early orchestral experience at Harrow Schools of Young Musicians before learning the drums and forming his own bands inspired by the music of the 60s–90s. This passion led him to the University of Salford, where he completed a Popular Music degree.
While he has been a professional drummer for over 25 years, 7 years ago he returned to piano with fresh dedication, completing the CPTC Piano Teaching Course at the Purcell School of Music (2023-2024).
About the Lessons:
Alan teaches beginners through to intermediate players.
Styles covered include Classical, Jazz, Rock, Pop, and Blues. You’ll learn approaches to Piano technique, read music, understand chords, improvise, develop rhythmic confidence, and — if you’re going for it — master your grades.
Lessons are focused, supportive, and empowering, ensuring you understand what you’re doing from day one and feel confident every step of the way.

Alan completed his Popular Music degree under the tuition of Dave Hassell, expanding his skills in reading, technique, jazz fundamentals, Latin styles, and all-round musicianship.

Alexandrija Edwins

Xandrija studied music and performance at The University of Leeds and l’Université de Montréal, and has since performed all over the world. She is an internationally recognised soloist and has collaborated with Angelina Jolie, Boy George, Russell Watson, Joseph Calleja and Hayley Westerna. You may have seen some of her performances on the BBC, ITV or at the cinema!
Xandrija now performs regularly in the West End and works for the ABRSM as well as teaching Violin, Viola and Music theory. Her specialism is in adult learners and advanced players.
Naufal Mukimi
Piano: from Beginner - Masterclass

Naufal is a rising star in the pianist world. He started playing the piano at the age of seven and performed with the Symphonic Orchestra of Uzbekistan from the age of nine. At 16, he moved to England to study at the Purcell School and won scholarships to study at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. He won the Young Soloist Competition in 2013 and the soloists’ competition at Trinity Laban in 2015
Naufal is very friendly and and extremely good at creating an encouraging and relaxed atmosphere in his lessons. His students excel as a result.
